This post features our private tour of several towns in Herzegovina in the south: Jablanica, Mostar (Old Bridge), Blagaj (Dervish House)
Pocitelj (Medieval Town), Kravice Waterfalls.
Herzegovina is defined by a very long pine green covered canyon with turquoise river and then suddenly opens up to a huge flat basin surrounded by mountains that is Mostar and on to gentle rolling hills to Kravice Waterfalls.
The strangest thing about this drive down was the cemeteries – they converted from thin white marble staffs of the Muslim markers to the dark flat marble graves of the Serb Orthodox – amazing how the dead can tell you of the transformation of nation from Bosnian-Muslim to Herzegovinian-Christian.
The best way to describe these places is to show you the pictures – not only do they say a thousand words but they last longer !!!
