THE TRANSITION BACK – ZAGREB TO MUNICH AIRPORT (Day 99-100 covering 572km to 12,147km)

GOLFCO PICTURES DROVE A TOTAL OF 12,147 KILOMETRES OR 7,548 MILES THROUGH 9 BALKAN COUNTRIES TO BRING YOU THE EPIC BALKANOPOULOS !!!

Welcome to “the transition back” to Munich Airport in Germany from Zagreb in Croatia via an overnight Seeboden in Austria.

The drive from Zagreb Croatia to Seeboden Austria was through Slovenia and very scenic. We passed the Capital Ljubljana but did not visit since it was raining and we had already visited on our way into Zagreb. Most of the drive was in rain, only the 5th day of rain encountered in 99 days of travel – so lucky.

Seeboden (Pop 6,093, Elev 618) is a colourful, peaceful, idyllic village on Lake Millstatter. When we arrived there was no rain but lots of cloud – good enough for a walk around the village and down to the lake. That night we had dinner in a lovely restaurant by the lake to celebrate the 69th Birthday of Paris and the conclusion of the epic Balkanopoulos journey of 100 days.

The next day saw us drive a whopping 332km to a place just outside Munich Airport where we returned our Peugot – our home for 100 days. What a sad sight it was to leave it behind as the company drove us to our airport hotel. A great deal of reflection and amazement during that 15min drive that saw us drive 12,147km across the 9 Balkan Nations.

The next post will be the last of the MAIN FEATURE where we share with you the BEST AND WORST of our amazing journey and summarise for you the 9 Balkan countries that Paris, Leo and John visited.

GET READY FOR THE BEST AND WORST...
